Iā€™ve always felt like breast cancer got too much attention in October. Why do we focus so much on one type of cancer when there are so many out there?

Then last November I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It didnā€™t change my feelings about the month of October. I feel like there needs to be more focus on finding the cure and improving treatments for cancer and helping people who are in treatment for cancer.

So, for the rest of October, Iā€™d like to challenge you to donate to an organization that either helps people who have been diagnosed with cancer or a cancer research organization of your choice.

Locally there are a couple of causes. The Norman Yardley Fund that is at Farmers State Bank in Oakley is the one I am choosing to donate to. The Northwest Kansas Foundation for HOPE is a local foundation that helps cancer patients.

I have designed some products to help with awareness.

There is a Hope yard stake. I have one in purple and one that is sort of pink. If you are interested in either of those contact me here. I will donate $20 to the Norman Yardley Fund at Farmers State Bank for each one I sell.

I also have a T-shirt (available in black, navy, and heather grey) and a hoodie (available in black and heather grey) that you can order here. For each of those that are sold, I will donate $5.

Or there is a mug that you can order as well. For each of those that are sold, I will donate $4.

As an added bonus Farmers State Bank will match any donations made to this fund during October. So, order soon so I can get the largest donation possible.

I will donate $100 dollars minimum whether I sell any merchandise or not, so I encourage you to help me donate more.

Letā€™s show them the Money, Money, Money.
