Sometimes everything flows naturally. Sometimes I need a little more motivation.

I love to sit down with a cup of coffee in the mornings to start my day. I enjoy holding the hot steaming cup in my hands and feeling the warmth. I love the aroma and the taste. Sitting down at my desk with it Iā€™m motivated to create.

Motivation can come from a lot of sources. I find that when I have a morning ritual it comes easier. Sometimes the morning ritual is harder to follow. I donā€™t know exactly what my day will bring, and I lack the motivation to get out of bed. I have to because I have four hungry horses, a dog, and a cat who depend on me for their breakfast. I may not follow a great morning routine though.

While my mom was in Texas over the winter, I was taking care of my grandkids sometimes every day. That meant I had to be up and ready with horses, dog, and cat fed before going over to start my day. I was up early. Since mom has been back, she has been watching them in the mornings and I have been watching them in the afternoons. I have fallen out of my morning routine feeding the animals and myself before getting myself ready for the day. Iā€™ve found this to not be as productive. If I have a deadline, itā€™s much easier to be motivated. If I have to find my own motivation, itā€™s more difficult.

That is part of my personality. That I prefer working to deadlines is part of what gives me the organizational tendency. It helps to bring me peace and keep me motivated.

Personality traits help or hinder us every day. If our tendency is toward disorganization, we often run late and are in a state of chaos. I have been working to move out of the state of chaos that living with a highly disorganized person and three kids can leave. I donā€™t want to feel like Iā€™m in crisis mode anymore. I want more peace in my life and Iā€™m working to bring it in.Budding tree

This is also the part of my personality that can cause overwhelm. I go from project to project without completing them and I feel overwhelmed. If I remember that my creativity can pull me out of that rut, step back and do something that is creative I will come back refreshed. Sometimes it feels like I then complete all the projects basically at once.

Learning about my personality traits and those of others helps me to understand myself and others better. I can relate to them easier and more genuinely. The relationship runs more smoothly.
