Much chaos was generated in 2020 with fires, a pandemic, and political unrest. We had disasters pulling us in all directions. Stay at home orders made people restless, many were dying or losing their health. Fires had people evacuating. Political tensions had people protesting and rioting. It all made for a contentious election year.
The fact is most people lost something. Whether it was a loved one, a job, their health, or their freedom.
We have new hope. Many companies have vaccines. Stay at home orders have given Mother Earth a chance to clean up some of the pollution. Weāve all had more time to get to know ourselves better.
Many people are noticing more while being outside. Walking the dog or exercising outside is the only way some have been able to leave their property. The poetry of nature captivating them.
Being outside has become so important our local news station has an app to tell you the best time of day to walk your dog.
Iāve been blessed. I have horses and I feed them twice a day. When the weather is good, I walk, itās about half-a-mile. I have a huge back yard so I can go out and play with my dogs while having a cup of coffee or sipping on a glass of wine. As an entrepreneur, I work from a home office. About the only thing that has changed is the number of miles Iāve driven.
Even though my life hasnāt changed much I feel the restlessness. Iām resentful that I canāt do whatever I want. That Iām screened almost anywhere I go. Itās an annoyance and an inconvenience.
Iām fortunate, even though my immune system has been compromised because of chemo, I donāt know that Iāve gotten Covid-19. Iām sure Iāve been exposed.
Iāve lost family members and know friends who have recovered. Some of those recoveries have been quicker than others and some came with lingering effects.
I donāt know about you but Iām ready for a calmer 2021. A time where we can focus on our values and speak our truth.
