Highway signs

I feel like Iā€™ve traveled somewhere (mostly to Lawrence/Kansas City with a trip to Littleton, CO in between) every week since the first week of February. John has had two doctor appointments in Kansas City, Iā€™ve had two trips to look at property, a long weekend when John wasnā€™t feeling well, and I went to a Hope Held by a Horse program in Colorado. Maybe itā€™s more like every ten days. Either way, itā€™s a lot of miles.

In that time, Iā€™ve seen three traveling musicals, Hairspray, Anastasia, and Hamilton. This is something I will enjoy more when Iā€™m closer. Right now, Iā€™m road-weary and bone tired. I want to stay in one place for a while. When I get home all I want to do is be alone and get ready for bed.

Stage setAlone time is something I cherish. A time when I can relax, and I donā€™t have to put on a happy face or make small talk. Alone time in the Jeep means I can listen to whatever book I want.

Sometimes my introvert/extrovert gets a little confused. Iā€™m split down the middle so itā€™s easy for me to go either way. It was easy for me to strike up a conversation with the woman next to me at Hamilton during intermission on Saturday night. I learned that her niece is in a theater program in Springfield, MO, and crewed for Hamilton there. When my friend that went with me inquired about how something worked on the stage, she texted her and found out. She also found out that it had taken three days to get the stage set. The shows that John has worked on at the Lied Center in Lawrence get one day. They arrive early and leave late so the show can move to the next venue.

My extrovert also comes out to play in situations where Iā€™m comfortable with the people around me. At the Touched By A HorseĀ® Summit, I am extroverted then I need to go someplace to be alone and recharge. Sometimes that recharge can be long overdue. If I were a true extrovert, I would be recharged by being with people.

This is only one part of my personality. When you factor the others in you get a much better understanding of why you do the things you do. With a better understanding of your own and othersā€™ personalities, you can be more understanding of them and how they interact with you.
