Itā€™s Our Mindset Thatā€™s Holds Us Back

horse eyeā€œI am immersed in abundanceā€. This was the message that Kellie Grill gave us at the Touched By A HorseĀ® Summit in September.

Sometimes we see ourselves in lack when abundance is all around us. It seems like that is the prevalent mindset here in western Kansas. It might be because our communities rely so heavily on the weather for their livelihood. One storm or drought can crush your yearly income. On the other side of that, a good year can give you a bumper crop. Then if everyone has a good crop the price drops so your income might not be as good as it could have been. There are many variables that farmers have no control over.

Abundance is all around us. Nature provides us with whatever we need. I was tired this weekend ā€“ I donā€™t know why. I didnā€™t have the energy to go out to see Ace and Patty. I was thinking I might be a bit depressed. I did go out and feed my other three horses and finally Sunday evening when I went out to feed it clicked. I felt better. Thatā€™s what the horses do for me. When I go out to see them all is right with the world. Yesterday I thanked them for this and everything they do for me.

Melisa Pearce says this is their essential gift. They want to heal us. As I have been looking for property, I was challenged by one of my herdmates to ask the property if it wanted to do this work. As I have asked four of the properties that I have looked at they all want to I have always gotten a yes answer. Maybe it is the land’s essential gift as well. Instead of being used by humans, it wants to heal us. To work in collaboration with us.

Abundance is all there is, Susan,
I was in the pasture today and we were all remarking on the inimitable fact that there is enough.
There is enough.
There is enough.
What a powerful thought in life . . . there is enough.
Abundantly yours,
Wisdom

There was a boy in high school who said this was my song. He didnā€™t mean it as a compliment. Now every time I hear it, I smile and think you bet I am! Rich Girl.
