Creating an atmosphere of mutual respect and consideration for boundaries, can lead you to the path of personal happiness.

How Horses and Boundaries Can Transform Your Life
I was talking with another coach about boundaries about two weeks ago. I have trouble setting them. I can see that this comes from my mom, she has more trouble than I do.
The conversation started with setting boundaries around caring for my mom and my son. Then it moved on to how Ace, one of the horses I partner with, is good at helping people set boundaries.
Lessons from Ace: A Horseās Unique Way of Teaching
He likes to grab onto things with his teeth and not let go. When I got him, he was always trying to get a treat from me. Because he works with people who donāt know a lot about horses this was unacceptable. Then he would get my shirt in his teeth. More recently it has been his halter when Iām putting it on him.
Heāll grab the nose band, and Iāll have to put my thumb in his mouth as if Iām asking him to open it to put a bit in. Sometimes he throws his head up making it even harder for me to halter him.
The day after the conversation around boundaries he didnāt do either of these things. The only thing that has changed is my mindset. I call it mindset magic and I havenāt had trouble with him since.
The Power of Mindset: Shifting Perspectives for Change
Mindset can be amazing. It can help with pain. This has been proven with the placebo effect. It can improve health. I feel like it was my mindset towards giving birth and illness that helped me breeze through labor and delivery, and treatment. It can improve your overall life.
Iāve always had a positive mindset. See the glass as half full. I remember a kid in junior high who said that if you expect the worst out of a situation, youāll usually be pleasantly surprised. I could never think like that. Not that I donāt worry about possible outcomes. I donāt dwell there.
Worry doesnāt do any good. It wonāt change the situation and it steals much of your energy. Mike used to say, āif you donāt mind, it wonāt matterā.

Onward!
I love this paragraph Susan, “Worry doesnāt do any good. It wonāt change the situation and it steals much of your energy. Mike used to say, āif you donāt mind, it wonāt matterā.” I repeated it to my Mike, but he is stressing as usual with this snow fall, even though we have no where we have to go or do for a couple of days.
Thanks Sue. Days like this I sure miss Mike. I am glad to have our youngest son here for this one. Stay safe and warm.
