Banner of horse's eyes

horse's eyeLast week I was a bit disoriented. The week started out normal enough with writing group Monday morning. Then on Tuesday when I went to post my blog and send out my email, I discovered that the writing had disappeared.

My computer hasn’t been crashing as much. For a short time, the touch bar that I thought was causing the problem didn’t work and it stopped crashing altogether. Then the touch bar started working again and it started crashing again. Not as much as before and I got complacent about saving. I couldn’t remember what I had written, I was getting ready for an Open Barn/Demo Day, and my mom was to be moved at the end of the week. Turns out I needed to coordinate with the movers. So, I sent out a blog post from 2018 and called it good.

Things Don’t Always Go as Planned

I needed some help getting the mower and some trailers out of the barn for the event so John brought a friend and they looked at the mower to see if he could figure out what is wrong with it. They ended up moving it into the garage. We’ll troubleshoot it later.

Metal sign - Trust the Process

Thursday morning John and I loaded up and made the road trip to Oakley. The mover texted to see when they should come. I said that since they weren’t trying to get to Overland Park on Friday they could come at their convenience. He suggested at 11:00. I thought that would be fine. Then the next morning they had an issue on their end, and I think they got there around 1:00. I would have liked to have been on my way back home by then.

John and I were going to load more stuff from my house to bring back as well so we had a little extra time for that. Then Mom called asking me to bring a couple of things that weren’t in her apartment and that caused an issue. I was able to get her mail forwarded and close her PO Box.

It Always Feels Good to be Home

In the end, I think it was around 4:00 when John and I finally left Oakley. I needed to feed horses that evening and had the Open Barn the next day, so I had to be home. When we got here, everything was done, and John had left for home it was a relief to be home.

Woman and ponyI noticed that I had some digestive issues before and during the trip. Nothing major, just uncomfortable. I attribute it to the stress of being back in Oakley and maybe all the stress that was going on that week. I have noticed that I don’t have those issues as much since I’ve moved. I will pay closer attention to my body and its reactions.

Despite everything not being perfect for the Open Barn and it being cold the people who came and I had a lovely time. And I’ll be having another Open Barn/Demo Day on April 28 if you’d like to come to the ranch and meet the healing herd. They do have a way of dissipating stress.
