Finding Trust, Magic, and Horses
Sometimes I’d like to throw caution to the wind and let the magic happen.
When I chose my word for 2025, it was faith. Have faith and surrender to the Universe.
The Struggle to Surrender
I have a lot of trouble doing this. I worry about what’s going to happen or how it will get done.
This morning, I was thinking about John and the accident he had last fall. His pickup was totaled. One of his high school classmates, who was an EMT on the call, said the dispatcher had said the driver was probably dead. I was feeling grateful and worried at once.

He also worries. There’s something that I need to do for him, and he keeps asking me when I’ll do it. It will get done, I tell him. Sometimes he’s like my Dachshunds when they get something in their mouth that they want. You must pry their little mouths open if you don’t want them to eat it.
There is also something that I want to step back and let him do that I worry he’s not doing in a timely manner.
Neither one of us worrying about the challenges helps them progress. It only heightens anxiety.
What Manifestation Teaches
Everything that I hear or read about manifesting says to surrender. To see what it is you want clearly, and turn it over. Have faith.
I get caught up in the “cursed hows” as Mike Dooley says.
I can see the big picture, and I want to know the steps I need to take.
I believe this has to do with my personality type.
When I take the typology test, my numbers are close. My highest one is the one that is about seeing the big picture and not the details. It is only a four-point difference.
When my extrovert accepts an invitation, I may back out or at least wish I hadn’t accepted.
I tend to overthink decisions that I should be making with my heart instead of my head. Then I second-guess them.
Unless you look at my calendar or computer files, you would think I have no organizational skills.
Knowing and embracing these traits helps.
I can see what I’m doing.
I can adjust.
The Magic of the Herd
